We’re so excited to announce that Walk4Ollie is officially back!

Walk4Ollie returns for 2025, and this year is our biggest walk yet. Starting in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, we'll walk over 210km to our home town of Enfield. This year, our target is to raise €15,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Ireland's "Ollie Hickey Fund", which will bring the funds raised to date to over €100,000

About the Ollie Hickey Fund

Muscular Dystrophy Ireland (MDI) supports people with neuromuscular conditions in accessing opportunities and specialised resources that enhance independence and inclusion, enabling them to fully participate in society and reach their full potential. MDI does this by offering financial support through the Ollie Hickey Fund. MDI – Ireland’s national organisation providing support to people with neuromuscular conditions – recognises that appropriate financial supports are essential in order for people with these conditions to develop the skills and avail of the opportunities to participate in society. We have therefore launched this funding initiative, which aims to support people with neuromuscular conditions to access equipment or further education in an area of interest to them. This fund has made a huge impact to MDI members over the past year - to read more about it, visit mdi.ie/ollie-impact-home

About Ollie

Yes, it's that drummer kid from last year's Late Late Toy Show! Ollie was four when he was given the diagnosis of Bethlem myopathy, a rare condition affecting the skeletal muscles and connective tissue. Despite his condition, Ollie leads a full life. He loves music and is a keen drummer, guitarist and member of his local music academy, Blast. He is a huge gamer, enjoys creating YouTube videos and watching football (namely Spurs, Bohemians, and the Irish national team)

About Walk4Ollie25

This year's walk takes place from 22-27 September, coinciding with Muscular Dystrophy Awareness Month. The walk starts in Donegal, and takes in the counties of Tyrone, Cavan,  Monaghan and then to our final destination of our home town in Enfield, Co. Meath, where on the evening of September 27th, we'll host the first ever Rock4Ollie!

This is the third Walk4Ollie. By the end of this year's walk we will have covered over 600km across most of the counties in Ireland, raising over €85,000 for Muscular Dystrophy Ireland.

Here’s the link to support this year’s walk. We can’t wait to share more about this year’s Walk4Ollie with you all soon 😊
