Exploring Neuromuscular Research in Ireland: Trends, Gaps & Opportunities

Muscular Dystrophy Ireland (MDI) is pleased to share our new research landscape review, Neuromuscular Research in Ireland: Trends, Gaps & Opportunities (1990–2025), together with an Executive Summary of its key findings.

Drawing on an analysis of 236 publications, the review explores how neuromuscular research in Ireland has developed over the past 35 years, highlighting areas of research strength, existing gaps, and opportunities for future development. We hope these findings will help inform discussions, encourage greater collaboration and support future research that reflects the needs and priorities of people living with neuromuscular conditions.
