Muscular Dystrophy Ireland (MDI) is delighted to announce an update to its wheelchair accessible loan vehicle service for members in the Southern Region.
As part of MDI's ongoing commitment to supporting independence, inclusion, and quality of life for people living with neuromuscular conditions, the previous Nissan NV400 has now been replaced with a Kia Sedona Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV).
This free service provides MDI service users with access to reliable and accessible transportation, helping individuals and families attend appointments, social engagements, holidays, family events, and other important activities that contribute to maintaining independence and community participation.
The vehicle is available exclusively to MDI service users and can be collected from and returned to:
Paddy Walsh Motors
Fermoy, Co. Cork
Collection and return are available during normal business hours, Monday to Friday.
Supporting Independence and Inclusion
At MDI, we understand that accessible transport remains one of the most significant challenges facing many individuals living with neuromuscular conditions. By maintaining and investing in our wheelchair accessible vehicle programme, we aim to remove barriers to travel and ensure our members have greater freedom to participate in all aspects of daily life.
This service reflects MDI's continued dedication to delivering practical, member-focused supports that empower people to remain active, connected, and independent within their communities.
