Building Connections Programme
The Building Connections programme was a research initiative facilitated by PPI (public and patient involvement) Ignite Network in collaboration with MDI.
This programme ran over three weeks from 31 October to 14 November. Six people living with a neuromuscular condition and two research groups (Health Psychology Programme at University of Galway and Occupational Therapy Programme at the University of Limerick) met online with members of PPI Ignite and Dympna Mulroy (MDI Research Officer). Over the course of three workshops the group learnt about PPI in research, discussed topics of importance to those living with a condition and identified core themes of interest to the community and within the expertise of the researchers.
The researchers are masters’ students who will now formulate a research question based on the topics and themes identified by the neuromuscular community. We will keep you posted as these research studies develop.
