Transitioning To Adulthood

Are you over 18 years of age, living with a neuromuscular condition and interested in sharing your experiences and challenges of transitioning to adulthood such as leaving secondary school, getting a job, going to post-secondary education, meeting young people socially etc? If yes, we want to hear from you! We also want to hear the experiences of parents / carers whose young person has gone through the transition.

Moving into adulthood can be a hard time for young people especially when living with a disability and researchers in the school of Occupational Therapy at Trinity College Dublin want to find out what people’s experiences were, what challenges they faced and what might have made this time easier. The goal is to learn from past experiences and create resources for young people who will transition in the future.

If you are interested to learn more about this study, please contact, Michelle Spirtos, Occupational Therapist, Trinity College Dublin via email spirtosa@tcd.ie. Alternatively, you can contact our research officer, Dympna Mulroy at mdiresearch@mdi.ie, phone/text 086 6066109.
