Muscular Dystrophy Ireland supports Changing Places Awareness Day 2024!

It is a day dedicated to making a noise about what Changing Places toilets are and why they are so important. At the heart of the campaign is the call for Changing Places toilets to be installed in all big public spaces so that people can access their community. Many people don’t give visiting public buildings a second thought. However, some disabled people are unable to go out or take part in activities many take for granted because standard accessible toilets do not meet their needs – or the needs of their carers and families. Changing Places toilets are different from standard accessible toilets as they provide an adult-sized changing bench, hoist, more space and a peninsular toilet.
