MDI Annual Report 2025 Now Available

Muscular Dystrophy Ireland is delighted to announce that our Annual Report 2025, "Making Connections", is now available to download.

The report looks back on a year of purposeful progress for MDI and our community, marking the final year of our Strategy 2023–2025 and setting the stage for an ambitious new chapter towards 2030.

Highlights from 2025 include:

  • A growing community — 243 new members joined MDI, bringing our total membership to 1,523 at the end of the year.

  • Services that make a difference — 564 transport journeys, 465 guests welcomed to our Home from Home apartments, and 357 calls and queries answered through our Information and Advocacy Support Line.

  • A stronger voice — our Campaign for Equal Access to Treatments for SMA Adults, delivered with SMA Ireland, and our support for the Time is Muscle campaign brought the experiences of our members directly to Leinster House.

  • Advancing research — a Research Ireland Enterprise Partnership Award secured MDI's first PhD partnership with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, alongside continued progress on Ireland's first national neuromuscular disease registry.

  • Trusted governance — MDI was awarded Triple Lock certification, recognising the highest standards of transparency, governance, and ethical fundraising.

The report also shares the personal stories of members and families whose experiences remain at the heart of everything we do.

We extend our sincere thanks to our members, volunteers, fundraisers, funders, and partners, whose generosity and commitment made this year's achievements possible.
