World Occupational Therapy Day: Thank You to Our OTs

Today, 27 October, is World Occupational Therapy Day, and at Muscular Dystrophy Ireland we want to recognise the occupational therapists who make such a difference to people living with neuromuscular conditions.

For many in our community, an OT is a key part of everyday life. They help people stay independent and take part in the things that matter to them, at home, at work, in education and out in the community. That might mean assessing for a wheelchair or specialist seating, recommending home adaptations, sourcing assistive technology, or finding practical ways to manage fatigue and conserve energy.

As needs change over time, OTs are there to adapt the supports around the person, not the other way around.

To every occupational therapist working alongside our members and their families: thank you for your expertise, your creativity and your commitment.
