MDI Supports Neurological Alliance of Ireland Pre-Budget 2027 Submission

MDI is proud to support the Neurological Alliance of Ireland’s (NAI) Pre-Budget 2027 Submission, which was launched on 24 June.

MDI member Nicola Whelan and MDI staff member Maeve Healy attended the launch event in Dublin, where they met with TDs to discuss the submission’s two key priorities:

  • Investment in neurology services

  • Investment in regional neurorehabilitation services.

The Pre-Budget 2027 Submission can be viewed here. Nicola’s personal testimonial, highlighting the impact of neurological services, is featured on page 5.

In addition, Nicola spoke at an online public meeting organised by the NAI on 8 June to highlight the needs of people living with neurological conditions across the South East. During the event, the NAI reiterated its call for the delivery of a long-promised Community Neurorehabilitation Team for the region. You can watch the meeting here.

MDI member Eileen Nertney spoke at the NAI’s online public meeting on 15 June organised by the NAI to highlight issues around neurology services in the midlands regional hospitals at Mullingar and Tullamore. Eileen has epilepsy and limb girdle muscular dystrophy. You can watch the meeting here
