MDI Barretstown Camp 2025 – Expression of Interest Now Open!
We’re delighted to announce that MDI’s Barretstown Camp will take place this year from 16th to 18th May. Following the huge success of last year’s camp, we can’t wait to welcome even more families for another unforgettable weekend!
New for 2025: Young Adult Weekend Option
We’re thrilled to introduce a special allocation of places taking place during the same weekend as the family camp, exclusively for young adults aged 18–25. This exciting new option provides an opportunity to attend independently of their parents, fostering independence, peer connection, and an unforgettable experience.
About Barretstown
Barretstown offers, specially designed camps and programmes for children and their families living with a serious illness and/or disability. These camps are supported by 24-hour onsite medical and nursing care, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.
Since opening in 1994, Barretstown has brought the magic of camp to over 100,000 campers and is recognised as a centre of excellence in childhood cancer care and other serious illnesses and disabilities.
What is MDI’s Barretstown Family Camp?
In collaboration with Barretstown, MDI’s Family Camp is a weekend retreat designed for young members aged 1–17 years, along with their immediate families or carers. This whole-family experience offers a variety of fully accessible activities, such as kayaking, arts and crafts, music, film-making, horse riding, climbing walls, and much more.
Expression of Interest
To help us plan and accommodate as many families and young adults as possible, we’re now opening an Expression of Interest phase. This will give us a clearer idea of numbers and preferences ahead of the formal application process at the end of February.
If you or your family are interested in attending either the family camp or young adult camp, please fill out the short Expression of Interest Form by 31st January 2025.
