MDI and AIPF Launch 2025 Strikeforce Powerchair Programme Following Last Year’s Resounding Success

Muscular Dystrophy Ireland (MDI), in partnership with the Association of Irish Powerchair Football (AIPF), and with support from third-party funding, is delighted to announce a new opportunity for clubs to apply for six Strikeforce powerchairs - for allocation in 2025.

This builds on the success of last year’s programme, when three Strikeforce chairs were awarded to members. Last year’s recipients were Dylan McLoughlin, Emer O’Sullivan, and Kyle Baker, who continue to thrive and compete with the support of their new chairs. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive:

“Receiving my Strikeforce chair from MDI has been absolutely fantastic. It is allowing me to perform at the top of my game and helping me to reach new skill levels.”
“…receiving the chair ‘was the best day of his life’ - that’s how much it means to him.”
“Since receiving the adapted power soccer chair from MDI, a new spark has been lit.”
“The chair has made a massive impact in my life and has allowed me to fall in love with the sport all over again!”

Application forms for the 2025 allocation have now been issued to all officially affiliated Powerchair Football clubs. While this year’s process is club-based, the aim is to help more teams access the equipment they need to grow, develop talent, and compete at the highest level.

We’re proud to work alongside AIPF again this year and look forward to seeing these six new chairs make a real impact on the pitch.
