The Remembrance Tournament 2026: A milestone event for Powerchair Football in Ireland

Over two days (15–16 August), the National Sport Ireland Indoor Arena in Abbotstown hosted a landmark occasion for the Powerchair Football community, as the Remembrance Cup and the Marc Bigger Memorial Cup combined into a single, expanded event featuring 10 teams and 47 players.

Results:
Remembrance Cup: Midlands Utd (1st), Lightning PFC (2nd), Belfast Trailblazers (3rd)
Marc Bigger Cup: Midlands United Thunder (1st), Belfast and Friends (2nd), Lightning Strikes (3rd)
Top Goal Scorer of the Tournament: Conor Troy

Beyond the competition, the event featured a number of sponsored trophies and individual awards, generously supported by families and groups in memory of past players and friends — reflecting the strong sense of community underpinning this sport.

The Remembrance Tournament has grown into a significant fixture in the Powerchair Football calendar, and this year's event reinforced why.

Congratulations to the organisers, coaches, players, referees, supporters, and families whose commitment made this event possible.
