Watch Back: Our National Webinars on Supporting Students with Muscular Dystrophy and related neuromuscular conditions in School
Both of our recent national webinars for school staff are now available to watch online.
Run in partnership with Education Support Centres Ireland (ESCI), the two-part series was created to help primary and post-primary educators better understand, welcome and support students living with muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular conditions. Whether you missed the live sessions or would like to revisit them, you can now watch both recordings in full.
Across the two webinars, participants gain enhanced knowledge of muscular dystrophy and related neuromuscular conditions, insight into the barriers and challenges that students living with these conditions can experience in school, and practical strategies for fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Each session brings together a range of voices: members of the Muscular Dystrophy Ireland team, a young adult living with muscular dystrophy sharing their lived experience, and health professionals specialising in neuromuscular conditions, including a clinical psychologist, an occupational therapist and a physiotherapist.
The first webinar, recorded on 22 April 2026, focuses on the primary school setting, while the second, recorded on 29 April 2026, turns to the post-primary level — each tailored to the realities of that stage of a student's education.

We would like to sincerely thank ESCI for their partnership in delivering this series, and everyone who took part. These webinars were kindly supported by an independent grant from Roche. Roche had no editorial influence over the content.
