The Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission is currently seeking expressions of interest for new members

IHREC are pleased to announce that an Expression of Interest for new members of our Disability Advisory Committee has launched.  This expression of interest is being run by Osborne Recruitment on behalf of the IHREC and all queries should be directed to ihrec@osborne.ie.

IHREC is seeking to appoint at least 9 new members to its Disability Advisory Committee and is inviting expressions of interest for appointment to the Committee.

IHREC’s Disability Advisory Committee was established in 2018 to assist and advise the Commission on the adequacy and effectiveness of law and practice in Ireland relating to the protection of people with disabilities; and to advise the Commission on the fulfilment of its CRPD independent monitoring role.  For more information about the role of the CRPD please visit https://www.ihrec.ie/crpd/

The Disability Advisory Committee includes members of the IHREC Commission and external members appointed by the Commission. These new appointments will bring the external membership of the Committee to thirteen. At least 75% (that is 10 members) of the external members of the Disability Advisory Committee will be disabled people.

Full details on the process can be found in the information booklet which is available in English, Irish, Easy to Read and Braille.  A short video regarding the Expression of interest is also available.  This information can be accessed at this link Disability Advisory Committee Information Booklet  or https://www.ihrec.ie/about/opportunities/

Reasonable accommodations are available to ensure accessibility of this process. If you require any reasonable accommodations and/or if you require the information booklet in another accessible format, please contact ihrec@osborne.ie.
