January 26th, 2022
A new multi-sport club is launching on Tuesday, 8 February 2022 at Stradone Community Centre, Co Cavan from 6 to 7pm and will be meeting weekly for an initial 8-week period. It is aimed at children aged 5 to 15 years with physical disabilities to provide them with opportunities to locally engage in sporting and recreational activities.
Activities will include a mix of multi-sport sessions and training opportunities for parents and volunteers, supported by Irish Wheelchair Association Sport and Cavan Sports Partnership. Involvement provides children and teenagers opportunities to develop new friendships while empowering them to achieve greater independence, by building confidence and self-determination.
It is important to pre-register so the club will have an accurate idea of the number of people attending. Registration is now available here.
As well as looking for members, they are also looking for volunteers to get involved and help with the running of the club. For more information, contact Sam Jablansky, IWA-Sport Community Sports Club Project Coordinator on Sam.Jablansky@iwa.ie
