Muscular Dystrophy Ireland's Training Department was established in Summer 2013.

Location of training department:
The MDI training department is housed in Chapelizod, Dublin 20 at our head office and accessible respite "Home from Home" apartment, which has state of the art facilities. The centre is on the following bus routes: 25, 26, 66, 66A, 66B, 67, and is easily accessible from the M50, N4, and Dublin city, though courses can be taught onsite should the facilities be available, i.e. profiling beds, hoists, etc. |
About the trainer:
Our MDI trainer has over 14 years of experience in the childcare and disability sector. She has worked in clients own homes, in residential settings, early years settings, on holiday programmes, and on daily support programmes, meaning that all training is delivered with a very practical approach. She has also tutored over the past ten years on Childcare, Special Needs Assisting and Health Care courses both with the VEC and with Private Colleges. |

This course covers: *Anatomy *Lifting of inanimate objects *Legislation *Principles of safe people moving *Risk Assessment *Safe people moving techniques *Principles of safe lifting *Use of hoists, sliding sheets & transfer boards. Course Cost:
